What this page is

This is the specification for buyer protection on Mindhyv. The program is new and will expand, and when it does, this page is where the change shows up first. If something you were told about protection isn’t written here, treat here as the truth.

What’s covered

Buyer protection applies to work paid for through Mindhyv. It’s designed to protect you in the cases that actually go wrong:

  • The work is never delivered. A seller takes the job, takes payment, and disappears.
  • The delivered work isn’t what was agreed. Not “not to your taste” — genuinely not the scope, deliverable, or specification you both agreed to in writing on the platform.
  • The seller isn’t who they claimed. Misrepresented identity or credentials, which our verification program is built to prevent in the first place.

In these cases you can open a dispute and be eligible for a refund of the disputed amount, in full or in part depending on what was delivered.

What’s not covered

We’re specific about this so nobody’s surprised later:

  • Taste and preference. Work that meets the agreed scope but you’d have done differently isn’t a protection case — it’s a revision conversation.
  • Scope you changed verbally. If it wasn’t agreed in writing through Mindhyv, we can’t referee it. Keep the agreement on the platform.
  • Work paid for off-platform. If money moved outside Mindhyv, protection doesn’t apply. This is the main reason to keep payment on the platform — see payments and payouts.
  • Consequential losses. We cover the amount you paid for the work, not downstream business losses.

How a dispute works

  1. Raise it with the seller first. Most problems are a revision or a misunderstanding, and the fastest fix is a direct message.
  2. Open a dispute from the order if that doesn’t resolve it. You describe what was agreed and what went wrong; the seller responds with their side.
  3. A person reviews it — not an algorithm alone — against the written agreement, the delivered work, and the platform record. We explain the decision.
  4. Funds follow the decision. Payouts to sellers are timed so a refund is possible while a dispute is open.

The honest part

This program will grow as the marketplace does, and we won’t overstate it in the meantime. The best protection is still the boring kind: agree the scope in writing, watch for red flags when hiring, and know what to do when a project goes wrong. This page tells you where our backstop starts and stops.
