The short answer
A professionally designed deck runs $300–$2,500, with a typical business project around $1,000. Price tracks slide count, how much raw content you hand over, and whether the job is cleanup or a full narrative rebuild.
| Tier | Range | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| DIY / template | $0–$50 | A theme you populate yourself. Fine when the story is already tight. |
| Marketplace gig | $50–$300 | Slides made prettier. Little help with structure or flow. |
| Independent professional | $300–$1,500 | Custom layouts, visual hierarchy, data made clear, a reusable template. |
| Senior / pitch specialist | $1,500–$3,000+ | Narrative rebuild, investor-grade decks, storytelling and design together. |
What actually moves the price
Story versus slides. The cheap version makes your existing slides look nicer. The expensive version questions the order, cuts what doesn’t earn its place, and builds a narrative that lands. For a sales or investor deck, that structural work is the whole point — a beautiful deck that argues badly still loses.
Content readiness. If you hand over final copy and clean data, the designer moves fast. If they’re deciphering rough notes and rebuilding charts from screenshots, the hours climb. The single biggest lever on your quote is how finished your input is.
Reusability. A one-off deck is cheaper than a branded master template your team fills in for years. If you present often, paying once for a real template built on your brand usually beats re-hiring for every pitch.
