The short answer

Independent productivity coaches charge $75–$300 per session, with a typical engagement around $150 per session. Sessions usually run 45–60 minutes and often come in short packages, because the goal is to install habits and systems you then run yourself — not to need a coach forever.

Tier Range What you get
DIY / free resources $0 Books, apps, and free method videos. Genuinely enough for many people.
Newer coaches / group $50–$75 Coaches building a practice, or group programs with shared time.
Independent professional $100–$300 One-on-one work, a system tailored to you, accountability between calls.
Premium / niche $300+ Specialists in ADHD, executives, or specific workflows, often package-only.

What actually moves the price

Coaching is unregulated. The title carries no license or required training, so the trustworthy signal is the coach’s approach and client outcomes, not a credential. Be wary of anyone selling a single proprietary “system” as the answer to everyone — the productivity method that fits you depends on how you actually work, not on their brand.

System versus accountability. Some of the value is a method — how to plan, prioritize, and protect focus. Some is simply accountability: someone expecting a report keeps you honest. Both are legitimate, but they’re different products. Cheaper engagements often lean on accountability alone, which works until you’d rather not disappoint a friend for free.

Specialization. A generalist helping you tame your calendar costs less than a coach who specializes in, say, ADHD or executive workloads. If your challenge is specific — a clinical attention issue, or the demands of a leadership role — the specialist’s higher rate usually reflects real relevant depth. For clinical attention issues, a licensed professional should be part of the picture too.
