What actually moves the price
Coaching is unregulated. No license or required training gates the title, so credibility comes from the coach’s own speaking or performance background and their client work — not a certificate. Someone with a real stage or broadcast record tends to charge more, and for high-stakes talks that experience is worth it.
Event stakes. Coaching for general confidence is one thing. Prepping a specific investor pitch, a conference keynote, or a media appearance is another — the coach is rehearsing you against a real, dated, high-consequence moment, often with recorded run-throughs. The tighter the stakes, the higher the rate.
Delivery versus content. Some coaching is pure delivery — voice, pacing, nerves, body language. Some also shapes what you say — structure, story, the argument itself. A coach who does both is doing more work than one polishing delivery alone. Be clear which you need, because a rambling talk delivered smoothly still doesn’t land.
